He was invited by the Late Mufti Ahmedirrahman (Rector - Jamia Uloom Islamia) to serve as a teacher of Hadith. After the martyrdom of the Moulana Habibullah Mukhtar (Rector - Jamia Uloom Islamia) in 1997, he was appointed as the Sheikhul Hadith. At the time of martyrdom, he was teaching the hadith compilations of Bukhari and Tirmizi. He was also the head of the Advanced programme of Fiqh (Takhassus fil Fiqh) there.
Travels:
His travels took him to many countries in Europe and Africa. (Germany, United Kingdom, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa)
Writings:
• Zuhur Imam Mahdi
• Commentaries (Comprising classroom lectures) on Hadith Compliations Bukhari and Tirmizi
• He was responsible for the Questions and Answers Column on Islamic matters in the Urdu daily Jang.
Spirituality:
He was initially spiritually linked to the Late Hazrat Sheikh Muhammad Zakaria (Rahmatullahi alaihi). After his demise he took the spiritual pledge on the hand of the Late Moulana Faqir Muhammad Peshwari (Rahmatullahi alaihi). After his demise he took the spiritual pledge on the hand of the Late Moulana Yusuf Ludhianwi (Rahmatullahi alaihi). After his demise he took the spiritual pledge on the hand of Sayyid Anwar Husain Nafis (Damat Barakutum).
Contribution towards the liberation of Afghanistan and establishment of the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan:
He participated in the noble efforts to resist the Russian invasion of the Afghanistan in the 1980’s. He issued a decree as his position as Mufti required deploring the American led invasion of Afghanistan which led to the change in government. At the time he urged ruled that jihad is obligatory on Muslims worldwide and urged them to assist their Afghan brethren as an obligation because of the American led invasion.
Abhorrence for Sectarianism:
He was totally against sectarianism and sectarian violence. He considered it a treat to national security and interests. He had reservations regarding sectarian formations and their methods of operation as they only impacted negatively on Islam.
Thought and Opinion:
He opined that Islam globally is a target of aggression under a number of pretexts.A number of nations have deliberately campaigned against the Dînî Madâris. These elements are irritated by the Dînî Madâris because they are the origins of true ‘Ulama. As such they rightly the Muslim masses. There are moves abound to amend the curriculum in these institutions viz to expunge the merits and virtues of Jihad. These ‘Ulama boasts very little resources but are fiercely resisting imperialism in its new form (New world Order). Whichever the government is in power (civilian or army in Pakistan), no stone is left unturned to discredit these “Ulama and Dînî Madâris.

The Janaza Salat was performed at Binnoritown by Moulana Dr Abdurrazaq Iskander. He was buried alongside Late Hazrat Moulana Yusuf Ludhianwi (Rahmatullahi alaihi) in the cemetery at Jamia Masjid Khatamun Nabiyyin, Karachi.
