Using a resort’s braai grill?

Question:

A Muslim family decides to go for a holiday to a resort or hotel and want to have a barbeque. The venue provides the braai (barbeque) stand and the grill. It is possible that the grill may have been used by non-Muslims who may have grilled Haraam meat that may have soiled the grill with Haraam or impure substances. Will it be permissible to use such a braai stand to grill ones meat?

Answer:

If the grill was washed thoroughly and there remained no trace of Haraam meat or any Haraam or impure substance, it will be permissible to use the grill. (at- Tas-hih Wat Tarjih ala Mukhtasaril Quduri, Pg: 151)
