ATTENDING THE FUNERAL CEREMONY OF A NON-MUSLIM

Question:

I would like to know if it’s permissible for a Muslim person to go a Christian prayer meeting for the death. Eg, if my Christian mother in law should pass on and they have a prayer meeting for her, is it permissible for me to attend that gathering because of it being my wife’s mother.

Answer:

No. you cannot attend the prayer meeting. You may go and offer your condolences at a time when no prayers are taking place.

And Allah knows best
