USING MINERALS FROM THE DEAD SEA AS MEDICATION
Question:
A person has very bad psoriasis and has been told that minerals from the Dead Sea can help him. This was purchased from a company in Durban. I need to know whether it is permissible for him to use this product from the Islamic perspective.
Answer:
If there alternative equal treatments for his psoriasis, he should avoid using medication containing ingredients from the dead sea as this was a location of the Azaab of Allah. Only in the event of no suitable alternative being found will it be permissible for him to use this medication.
